Book review for Secrets To Publishing and Marketing Your Book by Eris R Lebeau, author of Lost Souls and Source Code
.
"Secrets to Marketing and Publishing Your Book," by Kristin Blizzard, is an easy-to-read collection of level-headed advice for novice and aspiring writers. Using clear, concise prose, Blizzard walks the reader through all the stages of marketing, from writing a "business plan" to attending book signings and other media events. This book is an excellent starting place for anyone with vague dreams of becoming a published author.
This book discusses many resources that new authors may not have considered. For example, Blizzard offers some very practical advice about using an editing service, including a list of questions to ask before closing a deal with one. She also gives several useful links to sites that will review your book, as well as a list of competitions to enter.
Writers who feel intimidated by technology can benefit greatly from "Secrets to Marketing and Publishing Your Book." Blizzard shares her Internet savvy in a section called "Internet: Growing Tools," which includes several easy, free ways to get more exposure for a book. Even as someone fairly comfortable with technology, I found a few ideas in this book I would not have figured out on my own.

What Murphy Didn't Know

Review of: What Murphy didn't know.
By: CJ Barrimond, Author of Better Said Now Than Never Said At All
Date of Review: 25 April 2008
This book is a CHALLENGE! It is a major challenge to your belief systems and ideologies. If you think your ideals and beliefs are solid and you are not one to change your mind, your will once you read this book. It definitely gave me a lot of new insight into what I thought to be solid ideals and it challenged my views on several beliefs. You haven't been challenged of your thoughts until you read this book. The author of this book gives you a definite fact of life and then tells how Murphy didn't take into consideration present day factors. This is a challenge everyone should take at least once in their life.
I recommend this book to anyone who believes their ideals and beliefs can not be changed or altered. If you have no ideals of life or beliefs, you really need to read this book and open your mind and hearts to the possibilities presented by this author.
